  2. We've added a third 'Status' to workstations/servers, in the Devices table and graph. You can now see a 'Ping' status In addition to 'Online' and 'Unreachable'. This means that the device is pingable (It differs from 'Online' in that the WMI port is closed/unreachable).

  3. once you enter creds for a customer, have an option to apply those creds to all devices being used for a network discovery. right now we have to enter the username and password for each (ex: domain controller) that the customer has in order to start the network discovery for each.

  4. You need to add an option to delete network discovery data. I am in a trial and I "tried" network discovery. I don't like the way it operates and function's so I am not going to use it. So since I am not going to use it I don't want to see that data on my dashboard.

  5. The new update tool is still short coming. It can't detect Router, switches, NASes and even Printer. It should be able to detect UPnP devices. Even standard Windows 10 can scan and list these devices. A free tool like Advanced IP Scanner can detect better. This tool needs to be seriously re-tooled to a level that can be used in corporate environment.

  6. Under customers, it would be nice to have a link to their Network Discovery so you can check out the devices etc. Instead of going into the Network Discovery tab and look up the client

  7. Atera should provide suggestions or fixes for each gaps identified in Network discovery scan report.
example : open ports - what is best practice and how to close the port and how dangerius is that port.

  8. In order to have information for small networks because if an employee is on vacation and therefore the machine is off, we would have another machine chosen as an agent to receive the information

  9. Network Discovery should how progress to know that it is working instead of finding out it failed after 3 hours. Other agents I use scan and begins showing the assets it finds as they are found. Further, these discoveries take under 30 minutes. So, you know if there is an issue pretty quickly. Waiting 3 hours to see if you have an issue is not reasonable.

  10. I think it would be a good idea to be able to hide these tabs for certain roles
EG we have a client that has an onsite technician and he has access to our ticketing system I do not want him to be able to see those tabs
Our L1 techs should also not be able to see those tabs since we do not use them

  11. Have a Network Topology Mapper, SNMP based in Network Discovery.
    Look to Domotz for inspiration.

    1. Select a single, multiple or all of the devices which the agent isn't installed on, and deploy and install them at once

  12. I want the ability to exclude particular IP addresses from the scan.

In my particular scenario I have a honeypot set up on the network that fires off an email every time it's touched. This is generating ~100 tickets a day per network every time this Network Discovery agent hits the honeypot.

I will need to discontinue my Network Discovery subscription until this feature is implemented.

  13. It would be great if you could show the manufacturer for devices that are scanned on network discovery. There are usually a large amount of unknown devices and showing the manufacturer will help us figure out what it is.

Advanced IP Scanner does this check it out very handy.

Many devices have no interface to connect to so figuring out what it is involves pulling cables out.

  14. When I view a device in Atera - I can see the make, model, SN, OS, and a slew of other important information. It would be very beneficial if I could press a button and tell it to convert to asset - this would save a TON of time - and it would prevent me from having to double up on my data entry.

  15. This would allow users on other screens to see if there are alerts pending.
Currently we have to periodically click on Alerts to see if there are any.
Having the count show up will let us know when we need to look at them.

  16. Network Discovery: Auto-Deploy AteraAgent if not detected on machine.

Configure at customer/domain level and schedule your scan. If AteraAgent is not detected it is installed (laptop, server, desktop, etc).

  18. It should be nice if you develope a virtual appliance for vmware/hyper-v in order to deploy an autonomous network discovery tool. We will be able to scan a network without need to use an agent for that.

  19. We would like to put our own linux system at a users site to monitor SNMP instead of relying one of the clients systems.
