  1. When we onboard new systems, we typically want to make sure certain items have been configured (such as the Remote Desktop port changed from the default settings of 3389). It would be nice if we could create an alert based on a value in the registry. That way we could check if the default port has been changed after a new machine has been set up or if it is still using the default port. An alert would be triggered if it didn't match the particular value and a ticket could be created.

  3. If we can broadcast message to specific client, we can remind them to leave their computer on over night so scheduled update would be run. Or if there is a scam email being send to everyone in the organization, we could let them know to delete the message. As Atera agent already installed on all the machines, pushing a pop up message would help to reach many users quickly.

  4. We have moved from Ninja to Atera and the difference in Policies is a bit disappointing.

With Ninja we could have company wide policies applied to "Servers" or "Workstations" and a Mac, Windows and Linux option.

However, we don't seem to have an option like that with Atera, instead we have to make sure to manually apply server polices to servers and workstation policies to workstations.

Each Policy would also give us the option to setup alerts and scheduled tasks/script which doesn't seem to be in Atera.

For example, we have a 2 main policies set for all servers. "Scheduled…

  5. I would love the ability to include/exclude/choose which data to search when searching Devices.

I manage medical equipment, and some machine names have "OCT" in the name, as they're OCT machines. Today when searching for the OCT at a remote site within Atera/Devices, the list wasn't narrowed because the search apparently includes the date...and it's OCTober. Was pretty frustrating to scroll the list of devices to find the one I was looking for.

Machine names, usernames, WAN and/or LAN gateway IP addresses, and possibly DNS servers would be my main desired items to search "Devices" for. The date is…

  6. Linux agent doesn't work if SELinux is enabled. I've written a lot of Policies already in an attempt to get this to work, and after writing over 14, it seems like it may never end. Ideally, there needs to be a patch, plugin, module, or something to get it to work with SELiunx.

  7. How many times has a machine raised an alert:
Scenario: You want to know if the same issue keeps occurring on a particular pc.

You set the alert status filter to Resolved – but there is no way to filter the list to just that machine and then while you are scrolling to find it the list suddenly refreshes and annoyingly puts you back at the top of the list!
Please give us an export to excel function and a filter by agent, and the ability to pause the list refresh!

  8. Monitoring agents for Microsoft Azure.

    Monitoring agent for Azure AD

It would be great to have the possibility to monitor Azure Element like Azure VMs, Storage Accounts, MySQL Database, PostgreSQL Database, SQL Database, Load Balancer, Virtual Network Gateways, Traffic Manager, Webserver, Certificates, Kubernetes, ...
It would also be interesting the collection of some metrics for historical view.
Azure costs could also be monitored

  9. It would be helpful to be able to set the IP Range, that will be scanned. Haveing a Network with different Ranges connected trough VPNs and haveing a Domain, now we are not able to distribute the Agents to machines in other IP-Range then the Server with his Agent is.

  10. If there is no user assigned to a "machine causing an alert", set "requestor" to a Techician or System.
Current automatic behaviour is to set the first (alphabetically) contact from the affected Site to the alert/ticket .

  11. We have been in situations where we need to send installation files to multiple machines and then run installation script to install them. Currently Atera does not support the function to send files to group of machines at once. I am sure this will help many other customers having the same issue as we do especially with the working from home time where client computers are all working from different locations and the only common denominator is Atera running on each device. I will be happy if Atera consider implementation of this functionality in the near future.

  12. At the moment if you have a machine with multiple graphics cards in Atera will only list the first one it happens to find - which is not very useful. Please list all the graphics cards in a device.

  13. Cannot perform multiple actions on search results: Scenario: You want to search for all the machines beginning XYZ- and edit the relations to put them in a new folder – but there is no multi select option or actions toolbar/menu

Instead, you have to scroll through the entire list of devices to find each machine that you want to select.
Please add a check box to the results, a select all check box and add the multi select actions menu

  14. We use TeamViewer as a support tool.
It would be nice to have the same operation as the Splashtop module.
    What do you mean?
If the client machine does not have the software to install then it installs it silently.

  15. We have a custom restart script for our users that will remind them to restart the PC after a patch + software update automation profile has been run.

The problem at the moment is that the script will be ran basically in the beginning or in the middle of the automation profile run cycle which is confusing for the users and some may restart the PC right in the middle of the run.

We would like to see a script prioritization feature where the admin can decide when to run the script on a client machine within the automation profile.

  16. I would love to globally set my installed agents to only play sound on the remote machine and not transfer to mine thus not interrupting a video or music when I'm just checking on useage for a classroom, and also to remove the splashtop printers since i don't use them. It would be great if this could be configured for new agent installs by default also. Thanks 👍

  17. If a user is WFH you need to be able to disable the file transfer option for users or at minimum, if you are accessing someones files/downloading them, the end user should recieve an alert/notification similar to if you connected into their machine, that "AdminXXXX has downloaded a file". I think that would be a basic security/privacy requirement. Fact you can just download files without end person knowing isn't right.

  18. Expanding on earlier idea would be good to have the following:
    In Role Permissions:
Build on to Desktop Remote Management and Server Remote Management but have a new item:
Server Remote Access - Toggle remote access on or off for Servers.

This way we can have a tech monitoring servers and running scripts we have made but make the tech assigned to role unable to remote into servers (Think L1 or L2 tech).
Speaking of scripts, before "Manage Scripts" have a toggle to:
"View Scripts" - on and off so that we can assign L1 or L2 tech the ability…

  19. When there are 0-day threats, it would be great to target machines with the 0-day patches released from Microsoft etc... and made available from the Software Installation option and being able to search for the KB number to deploy.
Alternatively if Atera had its own storage available to its customers to reference for the afore mentioned updates. Customers could download their own patches and search for them to be deployed centrally.

  20. Print or export reports such as Recent Processes. we update many machines using the scripting process, and would like to have a list of the results, rather than having to use the print page of the browser.
