SNMP v3
It would be a good idea to add the functionality to be able use Network Discovery to scan devices using SNMP V3.
All our switches are configured with SNMP v3 only due to security reason and adding all these switches for monitoring has become a challenge.33 votes -
Network Utilization Monitoring
Have a way to monitor or see Network Utilization in a device metrics chart for the max, avg, upload, download for the network? For instance, if a site is claiming issues with their network, I would like to see if a device that is being monitored by our ATERA is using up the network bandwidth. Note: I am a small business MSP and most of my clients don't have the network hardware in place to monitor in detail this information.

NEWT integration
NEWT - Network discovery tool. It gives you all the information needed just after one scan. It also discovers the subnets

Add drive type (SSD/HDD) back to Disks on Device/Agent Page.
Add drive type (SSD/HDD) back to Disks on Device/Agent Page. This use to be there but it seems it has been removed. Likely added to Network Discovery to make it
"worth the money". Please don't stiff us like this!4 votes -
Network documentation and diagrams section
It would be very useful to have a section where you can generate and save network diagrams, SIR plans, network security configuration etc...
Perhaps providing documentation templates or a way for users to share document samples and templates.88 votes -
Move CVE to it's own Tab under Security or Vulnerability
It's great to have this feature but it's annoyingly hidden so many levels deep. I would bet many people don't even know it's there. I love the feature but it needs to be more front and center even if it's still somewhat limited. It's not really network discovery either, it's a security feature. Lets kick this software up a notch.

Network Scan
It would be helpful to be able to set the IP Range, that will be scanned. Haveing a Network with different Ranges connected trough VPNs and haveing a Domain, now we are not able to distribute the Agents to machines in other IP-Range then the Server with his Agent is.

AWS
If provided with an AWS user account allow network discovery to trawl over that account for AWS resources and if servers allow agent install.
Basically an aid with inventory management of cloud-based servers for an Org for ISO270001 compliance.

MAC address/OUI/Vendor lookup
Identify the MAC address vendor in the network discovery findings. This would help techs identify devices and additionally you could add the ability to classify/label the device (VoIP phone, TV, etc). It would help label the devices that are known but can’t be monitored by Atera agent or SNMP.

Network Discovery is active and doing arp-scans even if it's not enabled as a subscription. This triggers some network sensors as high risk traffic. It shoudl be possible to disable completely of not wanted.
And it should also be removed when uninstalling the agent.2 votes -
Network Bandwidth Threshold
The current Network Bandwidth threshold provides little value.
It would be better if there was a Network Interface (Utilization) Alert. Knowing if a device is downloading or uploading large amounts of data could be a red flag and worth investigating.
Create a customize alert for monitoring the Network Interface on a device to trigger an alert based on the total amount of data being sent (upload) or received (download) during a specific duration of time.

Bit Locker discovery
It would be good if the Agent could discover if Bit Locker is activated and possibly store the encryption key for Administrator safe keeping.
88 votesHey everybody, We're happy to announce we've released your feature request and now you can see the Bitlocker status in the Atera agent console. Furthermore, the Bitlocker recovery key will be stored in the Atera agent console. Thank you for bringing this request to our attention, hope this makes your day to day easier!

Agent deployment from scanning agent (non domain controller)
Allow for remote deployment of agent from network discovery via a non domain controller server or PC. Currently the agent can only be deployed remotely from a site scanned from a scanning agent that is a DC. This would be useful in cases where sites connect back across a VPN with no DC on site or are connected to a cloud service for Active Directory.

New Client Assesment Audit
The ability for the network discovery tool to be added on a device, to the audit of a potential new company (Computers, printers, etc) and then the ability to do a security assessment of the current network, even if it's a basic security assessment, and then get it on a report that is actually working even on current clients as well

Screen View
It would be really helpful to us to have the model of the equipment shown on the screen when you select Network Discovery. We would use this to help determine age of equipment and much quicker and list much more machines per page. Currently to get the model information we have to open the device.
Maybe even the ability to customize the view on this screen would be even more helpful.

What's New On Your Network - weekly report
I like the feature present in Spiceworks that sends a weekly report about what's new on the network in form of a resumee sent by email about newly installed software on machines (very useful and sometimes alerting), multiple instances of antiviruses on the same machine, antions needed on some network devices (eg printers).
(I'm unsure if it's already present in Atera)9 votes -
Improvement to Network Bandwidth Threshold Monitor
I couldn't find any information on the Network Bandwidth monitor and ended up thinking it worked intuitively, when in reality it doesn't.
Atera's Network Bandwidth monitor is actually monitoring the total bytes sent and received on an interface. A better name for this monitor would be "Network Utilization" as that describes what is being measured, or better yet "Network Interface Utilization" because Atera isn't monitoring the entire network saturation, only the interface utilization on an endpoint.
I do think there's still a place for bandwidth monitoring though. I'd like to monitor for low bandwidth connections so I can…

Metrik / Graphs for Network bandwith
A graph for the CPU and RAM is currently displayed. I would also like to have this displayed for the network load (Bandwith) so that I can determine the regularity of a network load at a glance.

agent metrics - drive space and network usage
I really like the agent metrics graph when opening an agent device. It would super helpful if the graph could also show network usage (per adapter - wifi vs wired) and hard drive space usage over time. If a device is suddenly showing a full drive, it would nice to see the usage history. Especially if it suddenly got full over the past couple days.
