Ticket documentation // automatic knowledgebase
Current setup:
A user can raise a ticket which will be handled by the supporter.
When the problem is solved then the ticket will be closed.
The customer can view all old tickets from himself (except he is the main contact) through the customer portal.Problem:
Quite often you get tickets like "Word does not start". Then you perform your troubleshooting and guide the user to a problem which you already had 3 times before.
At some point in time you think about creating a knowledgebase article about it so the user can find it.
Knowledgebase article do have a quite high level of information as this is what customer expect and these are often generic.
Then you have to think of if the knowledgebase article is visible just for a single customer or for all of them.
Additional to that you have to make sure to hide e.g. personal data to not go into conflict with GDPR.Improvement:
It would be nice to give the support the chance to document a ticket when closing it.
Mandatory fields to fill out are the following:
- Problem description
- Solution
It would be nice if additional fields can be added like:
- symptoms
- affected component
- keywords
- ...
These additional fields should be configurable to either be mandatory or optional when documenting a ticket. When the supporter closes a ticket then he does have the following choice:
- no documentation
- documentation (only visible for supporter and not for customer)
- documentation (only visible for customer company)
- documentation (visible to all customer)Within the knowledgebase there should be a note that the article is being created from a ticket.
Benefit:
- the documentation is visible with each closed ticket. If you have to read an old ticket then you just have to read the documentation and not all comments.
- the documentation (problem description + solution + additional fields) can be made visible and searchable for the same company or all customer. This can reduce the ticket load.
- just by working on normal tickets the knowledgebase will increase over time automatically so the IT admin and the customer do benefit from it
- best would be if the knowledgebase will be searched automatically when a customer tries to create a new ticket (e.g. when typing the subject)Current setup:

Customize threshold level in Scheduled Auditor Reporting
I needs to tweak the visual threshold level of the Scheduled Auditor report just as I do when generating a Auditor report manually, as all devices comes in different specs and the default threshold set by Atera often doesn't do them justice.
But in Scheduled Auditor report, we are not provided with the options to tweak the visual threshold, which results in sending a sloppy reports to the client that confuses them.
For a rough example: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8200Y has a base frequency of 1.3GHz for their CPU performance.
But the default threshold for Atera Report is:
Display Orange alert for CPU Clock frequency < 2.6GHz
Display Red alert for CPU Clock frequency < 2.2GHzWhich make a lot of system displaying false alerts in the scheduled report, and we are unable to configure the threshold level unless it is generated manually.

Add "Folder" field to Auditor Report Excel exports
If the "Folder" field could simply be added to the Auditor Report Excel exports that would be awesome.
We have organised our devices by customer and then by folder but without the folder field showing in the Auditor Report exports that categorisation is lost.

Allow Reporting on Non-Billable Time Entries
It's important to know what the team are working on, whether billable or non-billable. At the moment it seems that reporting is only on time entries marked as billable. Please make non-billable time entries something that can be reported on as well.

API read SNMP OID Values
Es wäre toll wenn man über die API Schnittstelle, in welcher man sich ja die SNPM Devices ausgeben lassen kann, auch die OID Werte sehen würde die man konfiguriert hat.

Graphic monitoring of virtual machines
What I miss about Atera is a really good graphical monitoring of VMWare and possibly other virtualizations. Unfortunately, you have to be jealous of Server-Eye or Paessler, here it becomes relatively easy. Virtual environment graphically displayed and you can see at first glance if something doesn't fit. Is something like this also being considered for Atera, SNMP is just very tedious.

Identify which devices have successfully authenticated using your Atera Account
Splashtop users will be aware of this feature already however, you can check which devices have been successfully authenticated and have logged into your Splashtop Account. In Atera, you can check your Activity log which will show what IP Addresses the user has successfully logged in from however, it's not particularly useful in identifying that your Atera account is secure. Given the damage that can be done if your Atera account is compromised, I think it would be reassuring that the devices using your account are easily identifiable.
What's your thoughts?

Automatic device transfer on scheduled date
I would like the option to set a specific date for a device to be automatically transferred to another customer. For example, let's say I have a device from one "customer" which I know is going to be moving to another "customer" on a specific date. If this can be automated, then it would save a lot of hassle and organizational issues.

ssd threshold
Many PCs have HDD and SSD, if I set the temperature threshold for hard disks it notify me even when an ssd became a little hotter.
Considering that an hdd have a threshold of 50° and an ssd could work even at 65° I'd like to set a threshold only for HDDs with a certain temperature and another one for SSDs with a different temperature.
Right now, in summer, I've some customers with SSD and HDD and I'd like to monitore both temperature, but I get ssd notification for 50° that's not interesting to me.

Update Preset Threshold Items for Software Installed/Uninstalled Events
The existing preset threshold item for the "Software Installed" event has a description of "Trigger an alert whenever new software is installed based on Event IDs 11707 and 1033"
It does this, but it also catches false positives. Other events that are not software installs can also have Event ID 1033. The exact same scenario also happens for Event ID 1034, which is designed to notify of software uninstalls.
Examples:
Event Log: Application | Event Id: 1033
These policies are being excluded since they are only defined with override-only attribute.
Policy Names=(Security-SPP-Reserved-EnableNotificationMode)
App Id=REDACTED
Sku Id=REDACTED
[Machine Name: REDACTED]Event Log: Application | Event Id: 1034
Duplicate definition of policy found. Policy name=AAD-BlockAADWorkplaceJoin-Default Priority=100
[Machine Name: REDACTED]These false positives daily generate a lot of noise.

Monitor for devices that are offline for a configurable amount of time
It would be nice to get alerts (perhaps this could be made a threshold) when a device is offline for a configurable amount of time (hours, days, weeks etc.)
This would be great to see if there are devices that are customers use infrequently or not at all.3 votes -
Custom popup when opening a ticket
It would be nice if you could create a custom pop-up window for certain clients so that when you open a ticket for that client or click on an existing ticket, a pop-up window would appear with important info. ConnectWise has this alert feature for its tickets. That way, if a client has special requests (i.e. ALWAYS CC this specific person; don't call this client, they only want emails; etc.) the technician can see it immediately every time they go into that client's tickets.

Automatic Refresh of Devices page
There needs to be an option that allows you to set the page refresh interval per technician account. This should affect all pages while logged in.

I don’t want all incoming emails to create contacts in Atera.
I don't want all the contacts to be created in Atera.
Ideally an email with a known domain would open a ticket under the specific customer, otherwise it would be under unassigned. There should be no mandatory requirement for creating contacts to open a ticket.I don’t need all these contacts and I will lose my main contacts visibility.

detailed report of tickets
The ability to report all logged tickets for a customer for a time period.
Not only the summary and amount but the actual content of tickets. Dates, times, entries and content. In this way the customer gets real insight in the work we perform for him.7 votes
