  1. I would like to give users (even without administrative rights) the possibility to install software via a self service portal. And not only via Chocolatey, but also via script.

  2. It would be great to be able to:
    --> run scripts with users - other than SYSTEM or current user
    --> run scripts as credentials stored in the Atera Password-Manager

  3. We find that windows updates rolls out certain updates too fast which can cause severe downtime for customers when Microsoft pushes out a faulty update.

    For that reason, we prefer to defer updates for 14 days.

    Using group policy, you can set this up or use registry as follows:
    [HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
    "DeferQualityUpdates"=dword:00000001
    "DeferQualityUpdatesPeriodInDays"=dword:0000000e
    "DeferFeatureUpdates"=dword:00000001
    "DeferFeatureUpdatesPeriodInDays"=dword:0000000e

    I'd like to see the ability to specify an age for an update to reach before Atera installs it. If I set the age to 14 days, If an update comes out, Atera will wait 14 days before considering its install. This would give…

  4. Assign a baseline policy for what software and settings should be applied and auto correct/reinstall if a change is detected. Similar to SCCM baseline configuration.

  6. Need to find a better solution for patch and automation.
    The fact that you can't run Updates, System Restore Point, and a Restart all on one profile without it running into conflicts makes little sense to me.

    I have now made 9 total profiles (3 sets of 3 [we have 3 different types of patch profiles running at different intervals]) to fix this. For each type we have to run System restore point, then 1 hour later a separate schedule for patches, then 2 hours after that a different, separate profile for restart. Hopefully it works.

    While it isn’t really…

  7. Similar to other reboot requests, I would like to reboot at a given time only after a patch install. For instance, a workstation would reboot at 3:00 am only after a patch requiring a reboot was installed. Kaseya has this feature and it’s something really miss.

  8. A way to find agents that do not have an Automation profile assigned. I missed assigning a automation profile to a site during a setup. I found out a month later when these machines did not restart at the expect maintenance window. I am now wondering if there are others I have missed. I don't fancy checking every single site or agent!

  9. The current "uninstall" function in Atera is extremely basic. There is no way to see the status, no way to schedule it, and it times out at seemingly random intervals, meaning software gets uninstalled from some machines but not others.

    If there was a more advanced way to manage this, including persistence/retrying until the software has confirmed uninstalled from a client/agent, that would be really helpful.

  11. Currently, when in the Client->Device->Folders the filtered view doesn't show the checkboxes to select specific device, or all of them to run automation, scripts etc... We should basically see the same view as in the main Devices when filtered.
    I know we can create specific views by customer and filter by folders but I think we should be able to select the devices in the Customer Folders as well

    Congratulations on helping shape Atera! The feature you requested is currently being considered for development. Please be patient as the process can take a while or even stall to make way for other features. We’ll update you once it’s been implemented and released!

  12. I have many devices in my account, but I'd like to make sure they're all getting patched. I would like to be able to run a report which shows me if I have any devices that don't have a patch management profile assigned to them. Thanks.

  13. i would like to store customer specific files in atera and push them automatically to a specific location on the client. (for example: every new laptop should have an RDP file on the desktop containing the specific customer information about the RDP server.)

    I would like to able to automatically copy the files from the secure atera environment to a folder. (place this file on %userprofile%\desktop / c:\users\public\desktop etc. etc.)

  14. There is only a general IT autmation queue timeout "run on offline agetns" at the bottom of the IT Automation overview.

    It would be great if every IT automation profile would have it's own queue timeout setting to overrule the general setting.
    If not set the general setting can be honored.

  15. So that new functions can be used after almost every update for the automation profiles, the profiles must be recreated and reassigned to all customers/devices

    This was already the case when the scheduling setting was changed and also for the "Windows local update" switch

    unnecessary additional work for us as a system house.

    Simply adapt the database model or better program it

  16. It would be great to have an option to add new customers and the devices under it to existing automation profile. For example, we have an automation profile to enable permission based remote access for Splashtop and every time we have a new customer, we have to manually add the customer to the existing automation profile to ensure that the remote access is not unattended and requests for permission even for all new devices.

  17. The ability to assign a random wait time if you're running a script on many machines.

    For example, if I'm using a script to download and install some software, I don't want to have 400 machines all request for a download from a webserver and tax the traffic or get restricted.

    I know there are delay options for offline devices so it can wait, but it would be ideal to be able to set a random delay, and pick the limit. So, I could apply a script to run on 400 devices, and I can set it to pick a…

  18. It's good if Atera has it's own caching server for avoiding Chocolatey public repo limitations and IP ban, or even better if we can also set ours manually.
    Accessing the choco logs from the web interface might also come into great help.
    I run software updates for 100+ machines on premises and the option of Atera patch management is not usable as is.

  19. In many cases, the auto tag feature is very helpful. However there may be a specific software or item that results in a lot of tickets from users that don't fall under a auto tag. It would be great to create a custom tag, but also have the custom tag act as an auto tag.

    For Example: WireGuard is an application my organization uses for VPN services. We can create a custom tag named "VPN" and create a rule where the AI will scan for keywords such as "VPN" or "WireGuard" in order to auto tag it.
    Then in ticket…

  20. Create an option to assign devices to folders automatically based on device name, for example, if a device name starts with "example-" then place in folder "example".

    This is an extremely powerful way of deploying apps automatically with intune and would be highly beneficial for deploying software packages and windows patches unattended. It would also prevent new devices from being missed and left unpatched.
