Asset Management, with ability to print asset labels, scan QR codes, and checkin and checkout equipment from one application
I'm currently evaluating Atera as a potential replacement for our existing help desk, which is lacking a really good asset management system. What I'm specifically needing is a better way to all of our assets as they come in the door and leave our environment for use. Ideally, the application would allow us to print labels in a variety of sizes for different devices and equipment, scan QR codes to checkin and checkout equipment (reserve equipment on the spot), complete maintenance surveys and allow users to take photos of equipment through the mobile app, and if I'm being a little greedy, it would be really nice to integrate with a GPS asset tracker like Samsara so that we know where all of our devices and equipment are at any given moment without having to go to one more system. Looking for a more all-inclusive solution to better support our team.

As a workaround for this, I'm using powershell to generate an AD-Computer report that shows when computers were added to AD, which is serving a similar purpose to get a fair estimate on the age of a computer. Of course, warranty durations aren't necessarily consistent and it would be helpful to know warranty statuses.
I may create a separate idea, but adding some AD values to Atera like Object>Created and Modified could be helpful.AD Computer Created - Script reference:

The search bar within Assets only works to search based on the fields visible on the Assets page, such as Name Values, Asset Type, Folder, User at the moment.
It should also work with other custom fields too (For example Serial number, Warranty End date etc....How nice would be if Atera will fix the search Feature and will expand the search filter to all others fields too under Assets section.
I also contacted Atera support team and they confirmed about this issue and suggested me to vote here.

It would be nice if we had the ability to generate a label report from a ticket. This would be useful to label customer items that have been returned to the workshop for repair so we don't loose track of who owns each item.
Ideally the report would list the customer contact information, ticket description and have a QR code that takes you directly to the ticket when scanned.

We are using Atera for an internal IT team not an MSP, but when we buy things from vendors it would be very helpful to be able to Create/Track/Relate POs for these items. Ideally some things to include would be:

This! I've been looking for ways to implement this into Atera, if at all possible for 3rd party contracts (software, hardware, warranties, etc.). Right now, doesn't seem feasible.
Ideally, you would input your 3rd party contract information for whichever customer base (basic info, or detailed, your preference) with start dates and end dates.
- include option to set a reminder date to process renewals (or necessary cancellations)
- Dollar amounts for budget planning
- ASSET MANAGEMENT....
- Overall improve tracking of all your software, hardware, warranties, ISP invoices, SaaS, etc. !Too many times I've seen stuff like this slip through the cracks at various clients, simply because of poor tracking. Next thing you know, you're less than 30 days out with a critical invoice to be processed, and sometimes the finance team just isn't on the same page when processing a payment.
Atera, you NEED to implement this. Not just for MSPs, but for the customers that are supported by your platform as well!

Also it would be nice to create automation to trigger ticket creation when warranty is going to expire in 90,60 & 30 days.

I am currently researching an asset tracker to purchase but would love either an integration option with Atera or a built in one. There is another Asset Management feature request that is asking for pretty much the same as this. They both have 20+ votes. Together, that makes 40+!

there is a already a sync to scalepad (ex. warrantymaster) but it is only one way. why not getting back the warranty end date and fill a field. "integration" does mean "sync" in both directions to me an not one way...

Certainly Dell offer an API to get this information and I bet HP and others do too so it should be easy for this to be implemented.
I realise Atera integrates with ScalePad but it's expensive to just get warranty information and it works by ScalePad pulling data from Atera whereas I want to view the Warranty information within Atera !

It would significantly help customers if the system was able to print Asset Tag Labels, including a QR code that if scanned it opens a new ticket for that asset, under the associated user.

Since the Atera Agent already collects the Service Tag or Serial number it would be great if it could potentially record warranty information and/or display that on the device screen and incorporate that into the Audit report.
