SSO for the users portal
Integration to allow for SSO.
Hey all,
I am happy to announce we have introduced the possibility to log in via SSO to the service portal.
We support a single application connection, for both AzureAD applications and SAML-based IdPs.
The feature is currently available for our Enterprise customers using our IT department product. Down the line, we hope to introduce the SSO feature to our MSP customers as well.
If you'd like to read more, please follow this KB.
If you'd like to inquire about the Enterprise package, please reach out to your account manager or contact our customer success team (success@atera.com).
Thank you,
Yakov

You guys really paywalled such a basic feature that is offered on FREE ticketing systems under your most expensive plan? I could see not offering it on the base package but excluding EVERYONE but the highest-paid customers seems like a good way to lose business.

We haven't advertised the portal because of this basic feature not being available on our plan. A real shame as it is available on our previous open-source ticket system as a free module add-on. Feel like the decision for it to be an Enterprise-only feature is a little bit of a backward step.

Glad to see this, but paywalling this feature is a big red flag for me.

This is greatly needed!
Getting users to use a ticketing system is already difficult enough, allowing them to use their Microsoft account especially on domain joined computers would be extremely beneficial!

I agree this should at least be included with the "power" plan. You shouldn't have to "contact sales" to get SSO w/ azure.

They made this part of their new paid tier when this was promised to us on the highest tier at the time. Shocking. All we wanted was SSO not the other features.

Azure SSO would specifically be beneficial for non-technicians to handle their own tickets.

internal IT: Customer Portal is basically unusable without SSO in place due to manual password mgmt. Users are already sync from AzureAD so built on that to provide them access to the portal please.

The idea is that users can login via SSO using their user and password that is in Azure

SSO like SAML 2.0

Yes, please!
We're standardizing all application on SSO with Azure. I'm holding off on deploying the customer portal because of the login problems yet another password will create.
Azure SSO would allow me to get more value out of Atera.

Cannot believe in 2022 this isn't implemented, its not difficult to implement a SAML connection.
Please provide an update as to when this is being implemented.

Without SSO integration we can't even begin to consider atera as a replacement for our current helpdesk management solution, which is a shame as it does have some really nice features.
We will definitely have a more serious look at it once it supports this, and hopefully they can roll out support for multiple vendors.

Lack of SAML SSO integration, specifically AzureAD in our case, is currently a show-stopper in terms of rolling out the customer portal within our organization, but it would also be helpful for technician access. The existing manual upload for contacts has no merge functionality and the AD Sync option does not support search filters for even slightly complex AD structures.

Azure AD SSO for users connecting to the service portal is a must for any customer using Microsoft 365, which is about half the tech population, if not more.
we considered Atera however lack of SSO for our users is a step back in time. we will definitely come back when it is available.

Azure AD / SAML SSO Integration for Admin's would be a huge benefit especially as MSP's grow. It feeds directly in to their already setup authentication policies and is much easier to audit and disable leavers with one click.
