  3. Most SNMP devices I deal with have the ability to send SNMP traps to a receiver, it would be nice to have the agent receive traps so issues can be discovered quickly (and this allows increasing the cycle of polling SNMP as issues from the device would be pushed immediately when detected)

  4. Dear Support,

    There should be bulk import of Custom Field for Agent using .CSV or .xslx formats.
    Currently we are able add custom field option for the agent but we have to manually enter the data. Since we have more than 1500 agents, the bulk import for custom field will be helpful.

  5. Receive a ticket when an agent is uninstalled - as the agent does not have a password to uninstall, it would be good to know if the agent is accidentally removed by someone, deliberate or accidentally.

    If the password feature is under development, an option to receive an alert upon commencement of removal would be tremendous!

  6. Problem:
    Currently it is possible to use a graph to display the CPU usage and memory usage.
    I would like to also monitor the network traffic on the server to better understand how much data is going in and out. This can help to investigate on potential issues especially on server.

    Improvement:
    Make it possible to monitor the traffic on a specific agent and display it in an extra graph showing inbound/ outbound traffic per timeframe and in total (E.g. 150GB within the last 24 hours).

    Benefit:
    This will help to identify peak times on that server from network perspective…

  7. We have recently being having issues where when servers reboot for Windows updates the Atera service doe snot start up in a timely manner, this results in constant alerts for the servers and unable to access them to resolve this issue.

    We set the startup type of the agent to "Automatic (Delayed Start)" however when the service is started again it appears to overwrite this setting and reverts to simply "Automatic" which means we are back to square one.

    I appreciate that other Atera users prefer the Automatic startup type for speed however for us it is simply not reliable…

  8. Looking at the event log, I can see the AteraAgent service restarts every minute or so. This floods the windows event log with useless noise.

    Is it really necessary for the service to restart so frequently when there have been no configuration changes. If there are configuration changes, it should not be necessary for the service to restart. The only time that should be necessary is when the agent image itself has changed (like an upgrade).

  9. The device display shows the "Last Logged User". But this information does not clearly indicate if the user is still logged in. It is often stale or incorrect, especially if more than one user is logged in.

    Ideally, it should show the currently logged in user (the one that's active). And it should show their status (Active, Idle, etc...)

  12. It would be nice to get alerts (perhaps this could be made a threshold) when a device is offline for a configurable amount of time (hours, days, weeks etc.)
    This would be great to see if there are devices that are customers use infrequently or not at all.

    Good Day!

    I would like to suggest you for atera agent version upgrade, while installing .msi file or Running CURL command it is removed older atera agent and installing new one most of the time only removed old version not installing new one. So i asked Atera support chat they suggest me to run Powershell command to remove Atera agent completely and run CURL command for new installation. I believe this is not a correct method , please make a new method once i run a CURL command or .MSI file it will upgrade old version to…

  14. I would very much like to setup dependent alerts. In one scenario I might have a WAN device setup as a primary monitor for a site, and all agents (Windows, Mac, TCP, SNMP, HTTP, and Generic) devices that are under that (ie: on the same network) would be dependent on that primary monitor.

    This way, when internet connectivity is lost I don't get flooded with alerts from all monitored devices when they're offline or can't be reached.

  17. Currently the Atera agent on Windows is configured as a service that has a startup type of "Automatic (Delayed Start)". This means that after a reboot, it can take the agent more than 5min to show up as online in the console.

    I don't know about everyone else, but I like to work quickly and this is a real holdup. There are times that I'll be connected via Splashtop and it will quickly reconnect upon reboot. However, other times Windows may have pending updates to install, in which case Splashtop will disconnect because it times out waiting for the agent…

  18. There have been many instances where I need to reliably reboot a Windows endpoint into Safe Mode with Networking so that I can run scripts and/or remotely connect to it.

    I have a script that will do this now, but it would be excellent if Atera could build this into the agent so it isn't a guessing game. Rebooting into Safe Mode remotely can break my access if something goes wrong, and since 95% of what I do is entirely remote, having a reliable way to do this is really important.

  19. Wake-on-LAN: It’s a brilliant feature that for the most part works really well, however sometimes a local IP doesn’t get reported from the machine to Atera. It’s got one and it’ll be registered with the DHCP server on the network etc, but because it wasn’t reported to Atera, Atera can’t wake it up. I know the device could be woken up, and I then have to use additional tools to wake the device up, so if there was an override of some sort, or the Wake-on-LAN feature used the public IP address to define the network for instance, this would/should…

  20. You currently describe how to install by GPO. However GPO is old school and a lot of people are moving cloud only. How about providing instructions to install with current MDM platforms that people are using like Intune (Microsoft Endpoint Manager), Jumpcloud, JAMF etc.
