Advanced options in IT automation profiles (scan and reboot window)
Support told me that new updates on servers will be searched at the start of the IT automation profile which leads to
- higher bandwidth usage
- more time for applying patches
- reboot time which may is outside of customer's windowWhat we need:
Scan window: set time window for scanning (e.g. on day of patching in the morning/afternoon)
Patch window: set time window for the execution of the patches
Reboot window: window for rebooting (last reboot no later than X:YY)39 votesNice! The feature you requested is being reviewed by our product team. We’ll keep an eye on the number of votes, and let you know if a decision is reached to implement. Thank you for being a partner in our process!

Allow multiple-choice variables in scripts
Instead of only supporting fill-in-the-blank/text-box variables, it would help to be able to supply a pre-populated list of options the technician can choose from.
Providing a list the tech can choose from would eliminate the chance of a typo messing up a script, or otherwise choosing an invalid/wrong value.
This means we can possibly condense a dozen or more script variants into one script with a drop-down menu.

Automated rules based on Criteria
Automated rules based on things like below
- device type - Server / Laptop / Desktop
- OS Type
- OS Version
- etc.
This would then allow us to setup automation rules for newly installed agents or publish IT Automation based on criteria like so
If "computer os" is "windows 10" then install these applications
this automates the ability to install AV / Applications / etc. when a new agent comes online for a customer
this in turn allows for an agent to be installed onto a computer which will then automate chocolaty to install
we would also need options to install webroot…

Automation - script run as soon as new agent installed
As a new agent is installed and appears in the Atera console a script (or multiple scripts) would run automatically, like installing RMM software or AV or other, not on a schedule but as soon as it's detected. this would NOT run in existing agents, only new ones as they come online

Patch Filtering
Reporting Criteria.........When doing patches, if you exclude patches, they still show up in the reportings as overdue/missing. Example: I do not patch automagically say HARDWARE updates. When you do a patch report, it looks horrible because it showing as MISSING, which it IS, but INTENTIONALLY. There needs to be a way to filter out for reporting purposes to see truly "what is missing".

Display a pop up message before and after an automation and patch task
Before a Scheduled Automation or patch task, we would like to have an option to send an automated message to let users know that this will be happening as well as another message to tell them that their computer will be restarted within X amount of time and let them postpone the restart up to 3 times.

Exclude patches by release date
I would love to have the ability to exclude patches by release date. Microsoft has been notorious for releasing patches before they are ready. I'd like to have a profile that installs only patches that have been available for a week or two.

Make 'run on offline agents' timeframe customizable for individual profiles
It would be great if the 'Run on offline agents' timeframe setting for IT Automation and Patch Management could be defined for each profile. Currently it can only be defined for all profiles.
For example, it would be great for patching or software updates to be run on offline agents for a week or more. That way they would still get the patches/updates if they were offline at the scheduled push time. However, if I have a separate profile pushing a reboot, I would never want that profile to be pushed to an offline agent when it comes back online.…

order
Need to be capable to select order to run automation and scripts inside the automation.
Was told now by ATERA support that there is no order or way to select this.
For automation we need many times select the order for scripts
script1
script2
and many times will help if we had some conditions (example if server run scriptA, it workstation run scriptB)more specific
1) run a script with msiexec to remove any version of XYZ software
2) run the last version of MSI file to install XYZ software3 votes -
Vulnerability Scanning
Either build in integration to one of the well known patch and vulnerability solutions such as Tenable.io, Perch, Topia etc. or develop your own vulnerability scanner.

Option to hide driver updates from the device overview page
Example: When viewing the devices list, it shows a device has 10 patches pending. When clicking on it, it reveals they are all optional driver updates under Windows. I think the patching should allow you to specify which update types are important to know about, and possibly based on the current patching profile it has setup on that device.

Windows Updates pre-Download Updates
There should be a way to download the patches to a client beforehand. Or to cache in any way. If you have 10-20 servers (or more) in an automation profile, and there all updates have to be downloaded first, downloading and installing takes quite a long time. Unfortunately, the updates are getting bigger and bigger. 10 GB or more is not uncommon for an update, which then has to be downloaded by every client...

Scripting tool to open/manage/close ticket
Please add the ability to manage tickets from a script. For example: I want to check every single computer for something, Script launches, opens ticket, performs check, updates ticket with results, if results are good, add time, closes ticket. It s a record we could pull easily for the customer. On other RMM software there is powershell modules or other functions you can easily do this.

FEATURE REQUEST: MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO ASSIGN A POLICY (FROM POLICY CONFIGURATOR) TO AN AUTOMATION PROFILE
I would like to be able to assign/link a policy to an automation profile.
So I can set this Policy to all our devices in Atera at once.
And to also get the Policy to every new Windows device in Atera, because we assign one automation profile to all new devices automatically when added to Atera. Now I can only add a profile to a customer or Agent and that means I need to keep adding devices to this profile when we create new customers or device manually.

Skip Patches instead of Excluding
Require the ability to skip patches instead of excluding them or alternatively exclude them from the reports too. The problem with excluding patches is that they still list as available patches but excluded. When reports are generated, excluded patches still show as missing patches, which in turn pushes down the score percentage.
