  1. From what support tells me 20 installs per minute limits any software deployment to small batches. Aside from the limit, the network potentially chokes up at the internet line. These are limits that need/can be managed. For example... determine if the software is already installed, and if not, determine the number of IP addresses receiving the request, round robin downloads by randomization of a delay between 1 - 15 minutes and peer to peer share the downloaded file for deployment or designate an agent download point inside the network as preferred method if available.

  2. I would like to build new thresholds, based on the feedback from scripts. This would require parsing the results from the scripts, comparing with standard texts, and picking out numbers that thresholds can be set for.

I think this would allow much more customization, especially for Macs and Linux devices that don't have as much standard functionality.

My current use case is this:
We have mostly Macs, and we require everybody to encrypt their disks. We can check each device by running a script (The "FileVault active check" from your standard library). If the disk is encrypted, it always returns…

  3. I've had to reinstall Windows on several computers and it would be optimal if, instead of adding the device as a brand-new agent, there were an Atera install package that could be downloaded from a specific agent in the app so that the device would stay associated with the same info in Atera.
For example, if I reinstall Windows on agent PC-100, I would like to be able to reinstall the Atera agent on PC-100 and not have two PC-100 devices in the Atera app.

  4. You currently describe how to install by GPO. However GPO is old school and a lot of people are moving cloud only. How about providing instructions to install with current MDM platforms that people are using like Intune (Microsoft Endpoint Manager), Jumpcloud, JAMF etc.

  5. Enable the ability to record Splashtop session. Splashtop already has it but Atera version that employees use, doesn't show the ability to record.

  6. Agent install without splashtop:

The Atera agent will now install with splashtop. I think its good to create a parameter to install without it. Just to give you the choise to choose something else

  7. Most SNMP devices I deal with have the ability to send SNMP traps to a receiver, it would be nice to have the agent receive traps so issues can be discovered quickly (and this allows increasing the cycle of polling SNMP as issues from the device would be pushed immediately when detected)

  9. Atera has made some great changes when monitoring Windows event logs, but there are still some features that would make it much more valuable.

I would like to be able to filter events based on the contents of their description. Let's say I'm monitoring the Application log for any events generated by the Application Crash and Application Hang sources. While this is helpful, it generates lots of noise and unnecessary alerts. Since there are a limited number of critical applications that I'm worried about, I want to specify those application names in the monitor so that Atera only generates alerts…

  10. Currently we use ITARIAN, which allows us to rename and install the agent using our company name, this appears in the start menu and add or remove programs as our company name, this help avoid customer uninstalling by mistake if they don't know what the software is.

  12. Hey, it shouldn´t be the opinion about Atera.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/atera/comments/130zjk6/anyone_in_the_community_having_issues_with_atera/

you get worse and worse in Mac area. As you see in our account we only manage Macs.

  13. It would be great if there was a way to have the agent do a internet bandwidth speed test every 4 hours or something, or even a way to run one manually and have it display on the portal for the agent.

  15. There have been many instances where I need to reliably reboot a Windows endpoint into Safe Mode with Networking so that I can run scripts and/or remotely connect to it.

I have a script that will do this now, but it would be excellent if Atera could build this into the agent so it isn't a guessing game. Rebooting into Safe Mode remotely can break my access if something goes wrong, and since 95% of what I do is entirely remote, having a reliable way to do this is really important.

  16. Please provide an option for a legacy OS agent. even if that agent doesn't have all the capabilities of the current agent, it would be nice to have some limited features and monitoring for our Servers that are in a static configuration and cannot be upgraded.

  17. Linux agent doesn't work if SELinux is enabled. I've written a lot of Policies already in an attempt to get this to work, and after writing over 14, it seems like it may never end. Ideally, there needs to be a patch, plugin, module, or something to get it to work with SELiunx.

    1. One is to incorporate a password on the agent so people cannot accidently or purposely shut down the agent or uninstall because they are not sure what it is!
    2. Expand the White Label branding so it also allows customizing or generically displaying the install program name and folder name, as well as in the Apps and Add Remove Program Files. Instead of “Atera” under Program Files or Program Files (x86), or the Apps and Add Remove Program files use something like “RmmAgent” or “MSPcompanynameagent” The reason is customers see the Atera program and decide they do not know…

  18. We have a few practices that use a tablet (one client uses Android, another two use iPads). We would love the ability to install Atera on tablets to have a more complete understanding of our client's network picture.

    Thank you!
