1. The choice between using Terminal/Console as either Root/System or as Currently logged in users

   Running scripts as root/system works for a lot of things, but there are a lot of use cases where running the script as the currently logged in user would be absolutely crucial.

   Any script that would, say, changs the computer name to the username, would be one of a hundred examples I can think of off the top of my head.

2. Agent uninstall upon delete

   Currently, the Apple Mac agent is not uninstalled, when a device is deleted in Atera.
   Deleted devices keep popping up as new devices.
   This is a no-go, especially when a service contract ends. There has to be a simple solution for uninstalling Mac agents automatically .

3. Atera Agent Startup Speed

   Currently the Atera agent on Windows is configured as a service that has a startup type of "Automatic (Delayed Start)". This means that after a reboot, it can take the agent more than 5min to show up as online in the console.

   I don't know about everyone else, but I like to work quickly and this is a real holdup. There are times that I'll be connected via Splashtop and it will quickly reconnect upon reboot. However, other times Windows may have pending updates to install, in which case Splashtop will disconnect because it times out waiting for the agent to come back online. When this happens, I know that I'll need to wait at least 5min longer than when the endpoint is actually back online.

   Right now I can mitigate this by using my AV console, because it starts up as soon as the endpoint does. I'm thankful that my AV console allows me to run scripts - I have one that (re)starts the Atera agent so I can get connected again shortly after the endpoint is back online. But I feel like this is so unnecessary - the AteraAgent service on Windows can easily be switched to the "Automatic" startup type and allow us to reconnect much faster.

4. Enable One way Chat & features

   We would like to use the Chat using the agent rather than the chat/messaging used in Splashtop as its very basic. It would be great to be able to use this to engage with the end user before connecting to their device. Where permission can be granted to connect. I feel the chat feature should just be enabled, without the need for the end user to register it or accept the chat, nor need to activate using a token. More customization also, such as the length of time the chat stays open before disconnecting. The ability to disable uploading/adding files to chat too. The option to only allow the technician to begin a chat rather than both ways. The whole process from starting a chat needs to be speeded up.

5. Disk Active Time Metric

   Display the Disk Active Time as a Percentage under the Metrics panel for Agents. This will help us evaluate if the users are experiencing lag time due to system limitations or stuck processes.

6. Showing 2 devices with same hostname name offline and online - After reinstallation

   My 500 machines got offline now I have noticed the while doing the reinstallation it's showing online and offline 2 devices with the same hostname.

   1. There is no way to clear the offline machines at a single time, Need to do it manually,

   2. There is no hostname conflict feature in Matera

   3. There is no way to delete the offline machines at one time

   4. There is no option to push the Atera MSI file via the deployment tool. it can
      only be done by AD

   5. There is no information on Atera uninstallation if you can run the
      uninstallation.

   6. There is no option to take user permission while taking remote by splash top,
      should take user consent

7. Organization Level Customization Of Atera Agent Startup Type

   We have recently being having issues where when servers reboot for Windows updates the Atera service doe snot start up in a timely manner, this results in constant alerts for the servers and unable to access them to resolve this issue.

   We set the startup type of the agent to "Automatic (Delayed Start)" however when the service is started again it appears to overwrite this setting and reverts to simply "Automatic" which means we are back to square one.

   I appreciate that other Atera users prefer the Automatic startup type for speed however for us it is simply not reliable enough.

   What I would propose is the ability to customize the service startup type at an organization level to allow Atera users to retain maximum control of their setup.

   I would envisage this being in the main Admin area for the agent or potentially even being part of an IT Automate policy so that it can be customized on a more granular level for each custom/set of devices.

9. Mac monitoring agent for SNMP

    Use FIPS 140 compliant cryptographic algorithms for Agent Communications. Customers that have Compliancy requirements are unable to work with Atera Limiting our use case.

12. Disk Space History with predicted time til full

    It would be great to get historic information for disk space (maybe as a report?) to see the trend for the last 6 months, rather than just the current free space.

    Coupled with that, it would be great to get a predicted mean time until full based on historic trend.

13. Add customised Agent download links to the customer portal

    It would be really useful to have the custom agent version available as a download link in the customer portal for self install. Here's how it would work -

    1. We setup the customer and add their users
    2. The user can then login to the customer portal
    3. On the first page they land on there should be links to the custom agent install for Windows & Mac based on the company they are in within Atera.

    The biggest problem we have is deploying the agent to remote users. The Mac agent especially as it requires multiple commands to be run from terminal to work. There is no reason this cannot be made into an auto generated script, downloadable from the portal.

    Show hard drive active time in the metrics window. Helps to know that some process is using the disk drive at a high percentage and this might be slowing the computer for the end user.

17. Stop repeated restarts of the AteraAgent Service

    Looking at the event log, I can see the AteraAgent service restarts every minute or so. This floods the windows event log with useless noise.

    Is it really necessary for the service to restart so frequently when there have been no configuration changes. If there are configuration changes, it should not be necessary for the service to restart. The only time that should be necessary is when the agent image itself has changed (like an upgrade).

19. Restart In Progress

    When running down the device list and doing manual reboots it would be really helpful having the Reboot Status known, if you manually already sent the Restart request (Clicked Restart) maybe the Reboot Needed can change to Restart Sent or something like that. Knowing if I already clicked restart on a specific machine is big!! Please Please Please!!! Thanks!!

20. HTTPS Agent installer link

    When generating a new agent installer, after selecting the OS and assigning the new agent to a customer, the third step is to download it. Clicking the "Download" button works fine if we want to download the agent installer to the local computer and put it on a flash drive or something. Only problem with that is that there have been many occassions when I need to send the installer via e-mail, and most e-mail services block this file for security purposes, as it is an .exe file. So instead, I need to send a link via e-mail for the customer to download the installer. I do so by clicking on the "other options" dropdown below the Download button, and send them the automatically generated link under "Share the installer download link with your customer". The problem here is that the auto-generated link uses the HTTP:// protocol in the URL. Sending this to the customer always results in their web browser blocking the download for security reasons. The workaround has been for me to copy the link, and just change HTTP:// to HTTPS:// in the URL. Sending them the HTTPS:// link always works fine. Doesn't take a lot of time to do it, I just don't always remember to do it when the need arises and almost always have to send a second e-mail with a new link after manually changing the URL to include HTTPS:// because the first link didn't work due to using HTTP://.

    So in fewer worss, can we please fix the "Download agent installer" wizard to auto-generate a download link using HTTPS:// instead of HTTP:// in the URL that is to be copied and sent to our customers? I imagine that would be a very quick and easy fix.
