  1. The current Mac agent installer script downloads the installer into the CWD and runs the installer from there. After installing, it does not delete the Atera installer. I request the installer script be modified to download the installer into the /tmp directory on the Mac, run the installer from there (by adding the flag "-pkg /tmp/AgentInstaller.pkg" to the installer command), and add a "rm '/tmp/AgentInstaller.pkg'" to the end of the script.

  2. Have an option that can be selected to notify the technician when an agent is online. This would be handy for laptop users who have requested help but are in-between offices where WOL isn't an option but you would like to know when they do come back online.

Currently I temporarily monitor the device then remove the monitoring once I have completed the work.

  3. Please consider adding GPU Usage % to the Agent Metrics (to show along with CPU and Memory %)

We have a lot of architectual, media and engineering clients where GPU usage is an important metric to monitor and log.

  6. I recently had issue with needing the end user to initiate a TeamViewerQS session so I could manually remove (regedit) ALL relationships to the AteraAgent. After a reboot, I was then able to re-install the agent.

To have an enduser able to run the executable to clean up, then run the installer, after a reboot would have resolved the issues with this client's machine weeks earlier.

  8. It would be really useful to have the custom agent version available as a download link in the customer portal for self install. Here's how it would work -

    1. We setup the customer and add their users
    2. The user can then login to the customer portal
    3. On the first page they land on there should be links to the custom agent install for Windows & Mac based on the company they are in within Atera.

The biggest problem we have is deploying the agent to remote users. The Mac agent especially as it requires multiple commands to be run from…

  10. Currently, the Apple Mac agent is not uninstalled, when a device is deleted in Atera.
Deleted devices keep popping up as new devices.
This is a no-go, especially when a service contract ends. There has to be a simple solution for uninstalling Mac agents automatically .

  11. In our line of business and I'm sure many others I run PC's on my network that have no access to the outside world, there ran threw a NIC and Switch separate of the internet. I would like to see the ability to run a agent remotely via the main agent or even run scripts on remotely via that agent.

  13. When working on large software deployments (no - not the apps in Chocolatey), it would be extremely useful for me to filter devices based on user activity.

I could filter devices where the user has been idle for >2hrs. This lets me know that those computers are not in use and I can start a long running process on them.

This would be useful in many situations; like patch management and maintenance processes, in addition to large software deployments.

  15. Some end users are security conscious, and would like to be notified the entire time a tech is logged in, instead of the window that disappears 20 seconds after the connection starts. Ideally, the notification would stay visible the entire duration of the remote session. TeamViewer has this feature in the bottom right corner, showing who is connected, and their TV ID. Simple click of the arrow minimizes the connection notification, but is still visible to show that a connection is ongoing.

Alternatively, a notice that the tech is no longer connected might make the end user more comfortable.

  16. I would like to see device events as detected by Atera for individual endpoints. I recently had a client rename an endpoint which caused some duplicate entries in some of the other platforms I use. Atera kept working just fine, but it would be really nice to see a history of events like this so I can see what happened and when.

There are several other use cases where this would be really helpful too:
    1.) Script executions
    2.) User account creation
    3.) User logon/logoff events
    4.) Critical/Error event log entries
    5.) Shutdown/Startup events
6.) Windows Updates (client native, Atera…

  18. Suggesting we change the default install location for Atera agent and all remote tools to these path.

    • C:\Program Files\X\ATERA Networks
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\X\Splashtop
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\X\ScreenConnect Client (b7d7eaa43a30baba)
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\X\AnyDesk-f45e5af2_msi

  19. I have many systems that the Atera Agent Tray icon does not load for, even after manually adding: reg add "HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" /v AlphaHelpdeskAgent /t REG_SZ /d "C:\Program Files\Atera Networks\AteraAgent\Packages\AgentPackageTicketing\TicketingTray.exe" /f
to the systems per chat support.

I would like a way for the "Devices > Help Desk Agents > Activate" option to be automated on a schedule.

  20. Running scripts as root/system works for a lot of things, but there are a lot of use cases where running the script as the currently logged in user would be absolutely crucial.

Any script that would, say, changs the computer name to the username, would be one of a hundred examples I can think of off the top of my head.
