1. Make the Linux Agent available to PRO users

   Thank you for creating the Atera Agent for Linux. Please make it available for PRO subscribers as well. I understand that the MacOS Agent is restricted to the tier above PRO but the Linux Agent should be available to all tiers as it is already a feature supported by other RMMs on their 'low' tiers.

2. desktop thumbnail preview image

   desktop thumbnail preview image in the client detail.
   I use this every day on screenconnect to see if a client is working or login to the computer. Just a desktop thumbnail preview image if so useful.

4. Notes

   Would be great to add be able to add more notes on a Agent.
   Being able to add more rows would be very helpful.
   Ex.
   Backupserver - BACKUPSRV01
   Hypervisor - 10.0.0.12
   Would make it easy to locate which backupserver the host backs up to or which hypervisor the host is located on.

5. metered network connections

   Turn on or off the metered connection on Ethernet and/or wifi network connections.
   Would be handy to be able to enable a metered connection on a remote laptop if the user suddenly starts hitting high data usage on a 4G router and mounts up a huge bill.

7. VPN

   I would like to see an option to create an Ad-hoc VPN from a remote user with Atera Agent installed back to the office network with agents installed. This would be helpful to push out certain Group Policy updates and also allow software deployment from the corporate repository and Password management and sync for remote / office users.

8. SNMP Polling Interval

   We currently do not have the ability to view or set the SNMP polling interval when monitoring them via agents.

   It would be very useful to be able to view and/or set the SNMP polling interval so we can customise the monitoring to suit our needs.

10. Software Uninstall - No Restart!

    I've posted about this before (can't remember where), but I feel like this should be a public service announcement now.

    If you uninstall an app using Atera's built-in feature in Software Inventory, and the app requests a restart, Atera WILL NOT SUPPRESS THE RESTART.

    The feature is there so I keep using it, not remembering that each time I do I get burned for it. Please either fix this so Atera suppresses reboots like it should, or allow me to block that option so I can't use it.

    The software uninstall feature is not ready for production without sane defaults and/or additional configurable items.

    I've posted about this before (can't remember where), but I feel like this should be a public service announcement now.

11. Event Monitoring Improvement (v2)

    I posted a year ago about some improvements to the Windows event monitoring that is available when setting up a threshold in Atera
    (https://atera.uservoice.com/forums/936306-ideas-and-feedback/suggestions/44256255-event-monitoring-improvement).

    But there are more issues with it that should be addressed...

    When creating/modifying a threshold in Atera to monitor Windows Events, there are 5 options. Selecting "Events Applications", "Events Security", "Events Setup", and "Events System" is mostly useless because the only filter is to exclude specific events. It would be far more useful if we could opt to instead only include specific events so it isn't so noisy.

    The fifth option is "Events by Source". This is probably where most people will try to setup some event log monitors. The problem here is that while the option says "events by source", it isn't actually "by source". There are 3 primary elements to a Windows event when it is recorded - 1.) the log it's recorded to, 2.) the source of the event, and 3.) the event ID. Atera treats the log as the event source (ie: Application, Security, Setup, and System - sorry no forwarded events). This is confusing because the actual source of an event is something other than the log. An actual Windows event source will be something like WMI, VSS, Application Error, .NET Runtime, Outlook, Service Control Manager, etc. These sources will write the event to a specified log (ie: Application, Security, Setup, System, or the source's own custom log).

    Here's why this is a problem...

    I want to monitor for application hangs/crashes and for my backup app, so naturally I want to monitor the Application log for event ID 1002. The actual source of this event ID is from "Application Hang" and it can be found in the Application log. In Atera you can configure this by monitoring "Events by Source" and selecting the "Application" folder, then monitoring for event ID 1002. But my backup app also writes to the Application log. When the backup fails it writes a message to the log with event ID 1002 but from a different source (the actual source, not what Atera is calling a source). I would like to attach a script to the threshold when my backup fails, but not when an app hangs or crashes. Right now with Atera I cannot do this at all because it will register the same event from both sources as the same - both record the event to the Application log and both use event ID 1002, so for Atera these different events are the same.

    Here's how I think Atera can remove some of the confusion and allow us to monitor for the things we actually need:
    1.) Change the term "Source Folder" to "Log" in the UI. The log selected here is just a log, it isn't the source of an event.
    2.) Allow us to specify the source of events in addition to the log and event ID. This way I can have one threshold set to monitor the Application log for event ID 1002 coming from the "Application Hang" source, and also have it monitor the Application log for event ID 1002 coming from the "My Backup App" source.

    I'd also like to add that I wish to monitor many more logs than what Atera provides access to. Open the Event Viewer in Windows and expand "Applications and Services Logs", then expand "Microsoft", then expand "Windows" - there are several logs in here that I want to monitor. They're off by default, but it's trivial to enable them. But since I've turned them on, I'd like to be able to monitor them and setup automatic actions/scripts to run when certain events are recorded.

    I really hope this gains traction, because event log monitoring is pretty elementary in Windows and is something other major RMM providers give lots of control over out-of-the-box.

    There are also many other applications and services that are registered with the Windows Event Viewer that I would like to monitor as well, some of which include Microsoft Office, Hardware Events, Intel, Splashtop, Powershell, etc. Being able to monitor these logs and setup automatic actions for detected event IDs in these logs would be so beneficial!

13. Laptops report their GPS location to track where inventory is.

    Most new laptops have GPS capabilities integrated. It would be great if Atera could collect this information. We would be able to click on an asset and see its location on a map. This would help locate missing inventory and/or track where the asset has been.

14. Dependent Alerts

    I would very much like to setup dependent alerts. In one scenario I might have a WAN device setup as a primary monitor for a site, and all agents (Windows, Mac, TCP, SNMP, HTTP, and Generic) devices that are under that (ie: on the same network) would be dependent on that primary monitor.

    This way, when internet connectivity is lost I don't get flooded with alerts from all monitored devices when they're offline or can't be reached.

16. Bulk Import of Custom Field for Agents

    Dear Support,

    There should be bulk import of Custom Field for Agent using .CSV or .xslx formats.
    Currently we are able add custom field option for the agent but we have to manually enter the data. Since we have more than 1500 agents, the bulk import for custom field will be helpful.

17. Password protected agent installer.

    When we first started with Atera we had to enter our Atera user passwords to run the installer from the user space. I'd like to bring this feature back or at least the ability to set at password at installer creation. If this feature already exists I am unaware. I do not like the idea that if someone were to get our installer they could easily add invalid devices to our console.

18. Sudo Rights

    It seems like we can't install software from Atera on a Mac Device with the current configuration from the console side. Homebrew software installation seems to appear errors to any application that must be installed with Sudo privileges.
    This almost makes the Homebrew feature useless. Please enable a feature that will allow us to install any application on Mac Devices remotely

19. Agent Time Interval

    It would be nice to have the ability to change the Atera Agent Time Interval either via the Atera web interface, or via custom agent creation.
    Currently, because of end user latency, we get numerous alerts and tickets. The only way to resolve this is by using a script on each end point. (changing the registry)

20. Map and GEO-Location integration with Remote Wipe.

    It would be nice for the agent to show it's location if in case of a stolen device connects to the internet. Have the ability to schedule a remote wipe or scripted data removal if it checks in or even sound an alarm if a device is stolen nearby.
