  1. Automation uses the devices source for the windows updates. Thus the agent will not install any windows update if the there is a WSUS configured but not reachable or out of service. It would be good to override this an download the updates online just as a user would optionally be able to.

  4. Set up folders to categorize and group your automation & patching. E.g.: group profiles by customer, or group them by type (patching, scripting etc.).

  5. add a field on script (and script library) where instructions and other notes could be added. this would be good to have as employees leave or new ones are brought on and they need to know why that script exists.

  7. I can assign a threshold to all devices at once which is ok and all, but I would like to set a threshold profile to all customer profiles at once so that if a new PC is added to any client I don't have to push the application of the profile to devices to all again.

My use case is that I am currently setting up new thresholds as if I were new to Atera to better match what we are currently doing. Then I will setup profiles for certain servers and such and apply them manually. Well I'd like…

  8. The ability to mark a Patch or Update as suspected bad. If so many Atera users mark one as suspected bad then Atera automatically suspends the install for all other Atera users and when a patch or update is corrected, the suspension is lifted and automatically installed. The idea behind this is to slow down the spread of updates that cause system and application crashes.

  9. set up waterfall inheritance model for IT Automation profile:
    Customer -> Folders -> Agents
so the deepest can override settings of the above.

    Example:
Profile 1 with OS updates applied to customer "A" has "deny manual updates" Profile 2 with OS updates applied to folders "Servers" of Customer "A" has "enable manual updates"

this feature should allow profile 2 to overrule Profile 1 (at the moment they conflict) and there is no way to exclude folders from the policy

  10. It would be really important to be able to filter devices by device type (eg. Servers, Workstations) when applying a Patch management profile. Now it simply impossible to create a profile that automatically(!) applies to different device types.

    Discussion on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/atera/comments/tz4cih/it_automation_by_device_type/
    "IT automation by device type

When applying automation profiles, there seems to be 3 selection options: Companies, individual agents, and folders.

    • The problem with adding a company is that it will apply the same profile to PCs and servers.

    • The problem with individual agents is that it is cumbersome and error prone when adding multiple agents.

    • The problem…

  12. Sometimes we do not wish to push out Office updates at the same time as Windows updates. It would handy to have a checkbox that allows you to either enable or disable ALL Office updates from an automation policy.

  13. It would be nice for the automation profile to have the possibility to run it hourly ( or at custom intervals ( in min o r hours) ).
Now if I want it to run hourly, I have to create 24 shedules daily, each for different hours

  15. While it is great we can select specific patch management automation profiles from Customer > Folders > Action > IT Automation Profile, it would be great to select the folder at time of creating the patch management profile, click Apply To, click on Folders tab then select Customer, then click on the Customer's respective checkbox of folders available to apply it to.

  17. Hi,

First of all, thanks for what you guys do... runs my business, makes my life easier everyday.

I know my suggestion probably sounds off but basically we have plenty of generic EXE installers that would be great to just have the script reference that installer file but have a different argument per. So as an example:

If i want to setup a installed for Trendmicro for my client, i have to upload a 200MB generic MSI file, put in the arguments the info that assigns to a specific client, and then save. Then i have to REDO this for…

  18. IT Automation, Adding Customer by Folder. I cannot apply per folder from the setup screen, without adding the Customer first and Save, which then adds ALL DEVICES to the Automation job. There should be an option on the Applied To > Folders tab that allows me to select a Customer, then the Folder all in one screen.

  19. The ability to run scripts at User login like you would a script delivered via GPO. As an MSP I like to keep the secret sauce close to home and not on the client's servers.

  20. Automation profile and "Run profile on newly installed agents" function.
It is very important that the profiles can be queued and the next one will not start working until the previous one has finished.
