Notify when device is back online
If availability monitoring is enabled for a device, Atera sends alerts when that device goes offline. However, it would be very useful if it would also send a notification when the device is back online (after a reboot for example). This is a basic feature and a must-have in my opinion.

One very specific scenario is a laptop missing or stolen, or even termination of remote employees.

For the people saying you have it already, how?
https://support.atera.com/hc/en-us/articles/215284828-Monitor-Device-Availability
You can set Atera to monitor agent and non-agent devices for availability. Enabling availability monitoring will notify you via alerts and the Atera Dashboard when a monitored device goes offline (down).
Important Notes
By default, availability monitoring is active for server agents and SNMP devices, but not for workstations and laptops.
Enabling/Disabling availability monitoring cannot be performed in bulk, it must be configured individually for each device.
Availability monitoring only generates an alert when a device switches to the offline status. It does not create alerts for when a device switches to the online status. -

There is times where this feature would be absolutely critical. For example we had a team member have their laptop stolen and they are worried about their sensitive data still being on the laptop. I would need to know if and when the machine comes back online if the thief attempts to get in before reimaging etc.

I agree. There are so many times when I'd like to work on a particular endpoint and I'll ask the end user to turn it on - but I then need to have the end user send me an email or something to let me know the endpoint is ready for me. This is cumbersome and shouldn't be the case with an RMM platform. I should be able to go to a device and create an alert the next time that device's availability changes from offline/unavailable to online.

Another use case is for metered instances like EC2. We want to detect and monitor their usage and have an alert fire if they are powered on for longer than a normal period of time so we don't have unexpected costs.

To expand on this, we would like it to notify us when a monitored device comes back online after its gone offline. for example, we are notified when a monitored device (eg server) goes offline but never informed when it comes back online, we have to manually check. We would like a quick notification email to be triggered when online again on a monitored device

Isn't that already done? I receive down and up alerts.

I agree. Just to maybe stop unwanted extra alerts: Maybe just have this "back online" alert to be active ONLY if you selected the device to have availability monitoring.

When a device goes offline I can set a notification while I can't receive anything when it comes back online.
This would be very useful on servers. -

Important notification to know when a network is also back online. Also notification when agent installed for the first time for onboarding purposes.

Ok I am aware we can get alerts when a device is off line. I however have a number of remote users and they can be offline for days/weeks. I want to get a alert when the device is online so as I can run some background custom once off scripts. Please consider this as I would also use it for retired devices that SHOULD not be on the network prior to recycling which has happened.
Thanks again.
