SNMP v3
It would be a good idea to add the functionality to be able use Network Discovery to scan devices using SNMP V3.
All our switches are configured with SNMP v3 only due to security reason and adding all these switches for monitoring has become a challenge.2 votes -

ADD SNMP TEMPLATES TO FOLDERS SO THEY AUTO APPLY TO EACH NODE IN THAT FOLDER
ADD SNMP TEMPLATES TO FOLDERS SO THEY AUTO APPLY TO EACH NODE IN THAT FOLDER. RIGHT NOW WE NEED TO ASSIGN THEM 1 BY 1 AND APPLY.

Network Scanning based on private address
We have locations with an SDWAN setup where the public IP address of domain controllers change. Each time this happens network scanning stops because the scanning is based off of the public IP address of the server. We would like to be able to set up scanning simply based on the Private addresses.

once you enter creds for a customer, have an option to apply those creds to all devices being used for a network discovery. right now we have to enter the username and password for each (ex: domain controller) that the customer has in order to start the network discovery for each.

What's New On Your Network - weekly report
I like the feature present in Spiceworks that sends a weekly report about what's new on the network in form of a resumee sent by email about newly installed software on machines (very useful and sometimes alerting), multiple instances of antiviruses on the same machine, antions needed on some network devices (eg printers).
(I'm unsure if it's already present in Atera)1 vote -
Network Discovery Task
To not have the following enabled when you don't have ND enabled: software installs a scheduled task to run AgentPackageNetworkDiscovery.exe (a feature that we don't even have enabled) and spams my domain controller's event logs with failed DCOM connections?

Network discovery should be free
The network discovery option should be a free option.
Now we run a free tool on a customer device. There are so many free tools which are doing a excellent job in network discovery. Very strange we have to pay for it separate in Atera. Realy don't understand this choice.8 votes -
Hide Network Discovery from Menu
Please create a way to hide "Network Discovery" from the menu for those of use not interested in purchasing that feature. Having "Network Discovery" with a "+1" bubble is visually annoying.

Network Discovery Improvement Ideas
Suggestions:
Ability to scan multiple subnets from one agent - don't try to be too clever here and lock us down to selecting a monitoring agent that has only been shown to have a matching internal LAN IP address for the subnet we are wanting to audit. We could be auditing an existing network that we have a management netwok on for example, so we know a node on that subnet can see the other subnets no issue, or we could be completely new to a network and want to start polling all of the known subnets from one agent…

Granular Control of Network Discovery for Technician
I really like your solution!
Please add a permission so Technician only can see their OWN customer when they use Network Discovery. Today Technicians can see ALL customers Network discovery objects and everything else because they need to have FULL admin rights. That is a problem, you can't give some technician FULL admin rights only to use the Network discovery. Usually you have different technicians that only have access to some customers and they should not have FULL admin rights on the whole portal. Please add more granular control here, a technician should only see his own customers in the…

Network discovery win10 = win XP ???
On non domain joined machines the network discovery shows that my machines are windows XP and not windows 10.
Maybe fix that bug before implementing other features ?

Network Discovery Manual Scan Button
It would be great to be able to run a manual scan after making changes to IP addresses on printers and related network IP based equipment.

Network Discovery Tool can't detect UPnP devices
The new update tool is still short coming. It can't detect Router, switches, NASes and even Printer. It should be able to detect UPnP devices. Even standard Windows 10 can scan and list these devices. A free tool like Advanced IP Scanner can detect better. This tool needs to be seriously re-tooled to a level that can be used in corporate environment.

Risk assessment
Scan for unsecured sensitive data such as Credit Card and Social Security numbers. A score-based report would be nice with this as well.

Auto-Deploy AteraAgent via Scheduled Scan
Network Discovery: Auto-Deploy AteraAgent if not detected on machine.
Configure at customer/domain level and schedule your scan. If AteraAgent is not detected it is installed (laptop, server, desktop, etc).

Add at least a second agent for network discovery
In order to have information for small networks because if an employee is on vacation and therefore the machine is off, we would have another machine chosen as an agent to receive the information

network discovery
Having issues with getting Network Discover to work on Doman Controller. It would also be nice to be able to ABORT the discovery, instead of waiting for a timeout. Also, when it does fail, perhaps give some idea of the reason, i.e. Network Credentials, Firewall/Getting blocked. I am using the trial, and this is a huge issue if I can't get this to work.

Network Discovery is active and doing arp-scans even if it's not enabled as a subscription. This triggers some network sensors as high risk traffic. It shoudl be possible to disable completely of not wanted.
And it should also be removed when uninstalling the agent.1 vote
