Ticket Templates and The Service Portal
Hi Atera team,
After building out the platform for my company, I have come to notice that the service portal does not fully optimize the use ticket template feature.
As it stands now, when a user navigates to the service portal and creates a ticket, ALL custom fields that have the setting "User can Edit" are shown to the user. It will remain this way UNTIL a user selects a ticket template. Only after selecting a ticket template, the custom fields will filter down to what has been specified to be included in the template.
After doing some brainstorming with…

formatting code
Having the ability to paste code into a ticket reply or internal note would be immensely helpful. It would be nice to be able to paste code into my ticket notes and easily copy it for future use.
Could be implemented similarly to how Discord or Slack by surrounding the text with backticks

Custom Ticket Fields - Hidden Indicator
There are plenty of tickets regarding the hidden field usage in the Customer Portal and it is being addressed.
Adding onto that, it would be nice to have an indicator on Custom Fields that show (at a glance) which fields are hidden or editable in the admin menu. Otherwise, to know which are which you need to go through the fields individually and/or on the portal itself. The fields already have an indicator for what format they're in (text, date, number, etc) so another indicator for hidden/editable would be greatly appreciated as it would save a bit of time when…

Manually creating scheduled tickets
There used to be a way to manually create scheduled tickets, without using the AI.
It would be nice to have this feature optionally available to us, because the AI can sometimes be wonky.I scheduled a ticket for "the third friday of every month" and the system scheduled the ticket for Saturday. I tested it with "the third Thursday of every month" and the system scheduled it for Friday.
When modifying the ticket, it resulted in the same mess-up.3 votes -

Email Forwarding from Tickets Without Altering Content or Requester
I propose a critical enhancement: the ability to forward emails from tickets to other internal departments or external entities without modifying the original ticket content or requester information. This functionality is vital in scenarios where individuals beyond the original requester need to be engaged for resolution, such as liaising with a key account manager or arranging new hardware purchases.
The absence of this basic yet essential feature in a service desk environment is a significant oversight. Its implementation would greatly streamline communication processes, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of tickets that require broader collaboration.

Time entry defaults
It would be nice to have several time frames as predefined buttons, e.g. 15 min, 30 min, 1h, 2h.
That would speed up adding time entries3 votes -
Add e-mail signature manually
There currently is no way to add the e-mail signature again once it's been deleted.
It would be nice to be able to simply click a button to get it back, instead of having to go back to the ticket list and opening the ticket again.
Even better:
the ability to choose between several signatures3 votes -

Salesforce Integration in Ticketing and Customer Relations
As a company, we have different departments that have different purposes. On the MSP side, having an RMM software like Atera is 100% critical, however it is hard to convince the higher-ups to pay for such a software when it overlaps so heavily with the CRM softwares like Salesforce. Instead of having the softwares overlap, have the softwares integrate. CRM, specifically Salesforce, integration with Atera would turn the conversation from "use Atera INSTEAD of the software you've been using for years for 90% of the company" to "use Atera ALONGSIDE Salesforce".
It should seamlessly sync ticketing, contracts and SLA's, customer…

Ticket automation rules for time base conditions scenarios
Ticket automation rules for time base conditions:
Rule 1:
For Open status tickets, existing or new - 3 day no comment or update - either internal comment or public reply, send an email.Rule 2
For 15 day Pending status ticket no comment – For tickets that have been in in pending state for 15 days and haven’t had a internal comment or public reply send an email.Rule 3
Pending 12 day reminder for the 15 day no comment or update. So the same as Rule 2 but at 12 days which send an email to the technician who…3 votes -
Time entry on customersite check box
The option to have a checkbox in the time entry window to check if a time entry is done on the customersite.
Right now, the only way to have a time entry be checked as on customersite is by creating a time entry with the mobile app.
But as soon as it is edited with my workstation trough the webapp it will be unchecked from on customer site.
Best way is to just be able no matter the app or platform to check a box to mark the time entry as being done on the customer site or not.

Create child ticket to subcontractors
We are working with few subcontractors that deliver solution components for customers. We sometimes need to open tickets to them.
Initially we thought to manage with 'forward' but it's not possible to forward a ticket (email) from Atera to a new destination address without copying the customer that opened the ticket. However, this is somehow incorrect as it need to maintain an association to the original ticket.
The solution would be opening a 'child' ticket from the original customer ticket toward a destination, that's the subco. The ticket will be 'company internal' but associated to the customer ticket.
So we…

Ticket export to include comments
Currently there is no way to export ticket information to include comments, at least not from the GUI. This country has just implemented new Data Privacy legislations and nearly every client of ours is currently performing audits. Not being able to easily extract this information is creating serious problems.

Auto-Assign Ticket to Last Commented Technican
It would be awesome to have the automation option of Auto-assigning an unassigned ticket to the technician who adds a comment in the ticket. For example,
- Contact creates a ticket which would be unassigned
- Technician 1 responds to the ticket via email or the portal by sending a message.
- Auto-assign the ticket to Technician 1

New Ticket description - able to set as internal note
When creating a new ticket in Atera (not via mail), have the ability to have the description field as an internal note.
This way our first line could give a detailed description when creating the ticket for our other lines to follow up without giving this info to the contact.

Multiple Support Addresses
In Freshservice MSP version of the Helpdesk, i have had the option to setup clients with their own support addresses.
I can get you screenshots if needed.
Here is the setup:
As the MSP, i setup my default support address.
Then i setup each client that requests their own support address (Incoming & Outgoing). They can then send an internal email and get a reply from an internal email as well. This helps with clients that have their own smaller IT Dept that piggyback off the MSP helpdesk for cost savings and in the event of escalation or Out of…
