Improve SNMP module (consolidated)
- SNMP monitoring in dashboard, OID values and what not.
- Support for Linux/Fedora based monitoring agent.
- SNMP trap receiving.
- More control on SNMP settings, polling rate, etc.

Would like to have SNMP Templates Management added as an assignable role under RMM like Manage Scripts.

This would be excellent for environment monitoring and a few other use cases.

SNMP templates that Atera offers. It is very slow to send it for all the OIDs.

in Dashboard it would be good to have an evidence of alerts for snmp device. Something like a specific category of alerts server of a count on the availability monitor. As MSP it usefull to have immediate evidence of number of snmp device have an alert.

The actual solution, implementation is useless. It is an absolut NEED to implement these features. Actual we are not able to monitore or manage the network devices. For a complete solution, what Atera is promising, it is a must have.

Or better a clean MIB Import feature in conjunction with truely dynamic templates.
But "dynamic subtree tables", as i call them, would be almost as useful and way less complex to implement. -

We would like to have a possibility to create(define in snmp templates) some kind of dynamic subtree tables when monitoring a snmp device.
An example would be a list of disks in a raidset.
row1: title:disk model, Base OID to return the subtree with all the disk models
row2: title:smart state, Base OID to return the subtree with smart state of all disks
row3: title:health state, Base OID to return the subtree with health state of all disksthis would a powerful way of extending the existing template solution which is quite static imho.
yes, in the existing way, we can manuall specify all the disks when adding the device. the templates themselfs are static. so when different systems with a different amount of disks in a raidset should be monitored, the template functionality as it is now is of limited help and always needs lots of manual modification to monitor the different raids, etc...
also, if the raid(in this example) gets expanded with additional disks, the technician has to remember to adjust the OIDs in atera so the additional disks are monitored. with the functionality of dynamic subtree tables, this could be circumvented (additional disks, etc. are automatically added to the monitoring)
this eliminates human error and will also dispaly information like this in a much more human readable fashion - and it would greatly enhance the snmp template functionality. -

SNMP: we didn’t continue using it because we had to set the MIBs for each point. I can’t just paste the MID. I still have to create the monitoring points manually. I can’t add odd all of them. If it would paste the link, the monitoring would download. All the providers those links so it would be much easier

My team needs to monitor all devices on one computer monitor to see the status of each device with one glance. This is a critical feature of what we do. It is critical for us be able to walk in and look at a monitor and see a RED light telling us something is down so we can be proactive BEFORE the phones start ringing.

To allow a Technician to add an SNMP device they need "Full Admin" access.
This is not great as I don't want a technician to see billing information.
Can you give the right to add SNMP, HTTP, Generic checks so I can assign this right to an Technician.

Most SNMP devices I deal with have the ability to send SNMP traps to a receiver, it would be nice to have the agent receive traps so issues can be discovered quickly (and this allows increasing the cycle of polling SNMP as issues from the device would be pushed immediately when detected)

This is exactly the feature I want to have to monitor printer toner levels over time.

It would be nice to combine multiple OIDs into 1 monitor line so a single alert can be used for multiple OIDs.
Example:
7 OIDs monitor temperature with an "OK" status when things are fine
1 Monitor would reference all 7 OIDs and if one or more of them change status the monitor would send a single "temperature" issue alert rather than up to 7 individuals. -

It would be nice to also have an "Information" option for monitored OIDs.
Example:
Device has serial number and software version information available via OIDs
Desire is to get an alert when the software version changes or device is replaced with a new serial number.
This alert does not need to be a warning or critical as it is just housekeeping information. A further idea here is to have the option to aggregate "information" alerts to a single email rather than individual (i.e. an entire building of 10 devices all get software upgrades, be nice to have a single alert email rather than 10 individual)
The idea of historical tracking of OID values would also be useful on this as it would be nice to track historical records of device serial numbers and software versions. -

or it is weekend and e.g the printer is switched off. I get totally spammed by "snmp not responding" alerts!
