Network discovery should be free
The network discovery option should be a free option.
Now we run a free tool on a customer device. There are so many free tools which are doing a excellent job in network discovery. Very strange we have to pay for it separate in Atera. Realy don't understand this choice.

It is convenient to have the discovery tool in the same console as the rest of the tools, however, there are many cheaper or even free tools offering a better, more precise and easier to use discovery tool.
The convenience is not worth the cost, considering the general weakness of the current discovery tool. Many of the suggestions in this post need to be implemented before it can be considered a serious addition.
Namely, the ability to correctly identify devices upon discovery, edit the discovered devices and the ability to run the discovery tool from devices other than Windows platforms.

full support to this topic. Why a discovery needs a contract to test it?

I assume that "Network Discovery" is a platform for adding more features and is therefore a springboard for those features - however, I find it a bit lacking and currently it has proven of little use to me and my team. One of the MAIN requirements is being able to push agents out to unmanaged devices on the network - which I've not successfully used one time. I HAVE used Network Discovery, though, to add SNMP devices found on the network. I'll agree, it needs work

Its cheaper to place a PC on a customer site and run advanced ip scan than network discovery for each engineer each month. I don't mind paying $50 a month for the service, but a charge per account is dumb. Which ever sales manager drinking scotch on a night out in vegas came up with the pricing model per engineer needs a talking to. Its the only reason I don't use the service since I have PCs at each client that scan for me.
