I am currently managing an MDM solution with JumpCloud. My needs are around IOS devices only. Automation out of the box is key. Being able to onboard all devices once purchased is a huge time saver. Using Groups to deploy applications and configuration is a very nice to have feature within an MDM. Here's a few features that would be necessary for me to switch MDM solutions.
APN Configuration
VPP Program
Enroll BYOD Devices using a QR Code
User or Device Policy Management out of the box
Zero Touch Onboarding with Automated Enrollment
Remote Viewing capabilities would be a fantastic feature.
Another great MDM product I really like is Manage Engine's MDM. They have a great user interface for quickly configuring applications like Outlook and other customized Apps. With everything going to the Internet anymore not sure that feature is needed as much with an MDM.
